Hey Everybody! Sorry I have not been posting lately. Things have been a little out of ordinary for us. We moved onto the campus of French Camp Academy July 25th. We are in temporary housing and have no clue as to when we will get into our permanent place. The temporary place is fine and we have plenty of room but we do have a room across the hall that is full of boxes. We aren't able to get "settled" because we know we will be moving at some point. We started with the bare minimum unpacked to function but the longer we are here the more that seems to get unpacked. Luckily the next move will only be to the other side of campus.
We are using FCA computer and networked internet they already had installed in this temporary place right now. We had some issues with it at first because they were changing their security filters so I was blocked out of certain websites for a while but that is all fixed. Also, I'm not sure I will be able to download my camera software so I will not be able to post pictures. I have been so busy I haven't even tried it yet.
Kaylee had been on a waiting list for the Pre-K class here and finally got in last week. She loves school but is having to adjust to being so worn out everyday. She went to FCA's Mini Cheer Camp yesterday afternoon for the second year. They will perform at Friday nights game. In the last 3 weeks she and Tyler have had the "hand, foot and mouth disease" virus and she had a bladder infection. He sent us straight to the hospital to have a bladder scan done because he seems to think all her random fevers last year, when her pediatrician did flu swabs but no urine tests, could have been bladder infections. I had to go to the doctor with awful muscle spasms down the left side of my body. The medication and ice has seemed to help. I only pray the pain doesn't come back when the meds run out. For the last week I have been fighting sinus infection symptoms but have refused to go to the doctor because we have been so much lately. I have to take Kaylee back for a re-check on the bladder infection today so I might have him take a look while I'm there.
Tyler is growing with leaps and bounds. He still isn't saying much but there is no doubt he knows what we are saying. He also gets his point across. His temper is certainly showing. He is still pretty laid back but is wide ope at that same time. He has to be doing something constantly. He can show you touchdown and loves any kind of ball or book.
John is teaching 4 classes, coaching JV and Varsity Boys Basketball and Varsity Girls Basketball. He has also agreed to help the softball coach when he is needed. He had basketball tryouts a couple of Saturday's ago and had 20+ tryout for boys and girls. He cut down to 13 which was a hard decision for him because many are here because of self-esteem issues. He and I are on activities duty one weekend a month. Last Sunday was our first Sunday with the Huntsville Church of Christ where John will be working with on a part-time basis. Two basketball boys showed up last Wednesday night wanting to go to church with John and then 8 boys have said they are going this Sunday. It is a "fellowship meal" Sunday so I'm sure that didn't sway them in any way. It really looks as if John is thriving and is letting God use him in the life of these kids.
I have been dorm subbing one day a week for a girls dorm. The house parents get one day off a week so I take on their daily responsibilities for that day. I am responsible for 13 girls from 6:00 in the morning to 10:00 at night every Tuesday. John and I swapping the kids back and forth has worked out good so far but it will be difficult when basketball season starts. When we move we will be across the road from the dorm I sub for which will be helpful. I have also agreed to sub one Saturday a month for a another girls dorm which has mostly 9th and 10th graders. The first time with those girls was, for lack of a better term, AWFUL!!!! I had two girls get into a fight, verbal and physical. One girl threatened to run away and did the next day. I am suppose to sub again this Saturday so maybe things will be better?
There is a lot more that can be said but I know you have better things to do. Thanks for taking the time to catch up on what has been happening with us and I will try to get pictures going. God Bless You all.

Tawana, I am so proud of what you and John are doing.... Of course I just wish you were closer...But, we must remember God has placed you there for a reason..I know you are in a good place and I think it is a beautiful place to raise the kids...I love it down there.. Hope to be able to see you again soon.. Love you,
Love ya'll and are praying for you. If you get frustrated with the subbing for the houseparents call me and vent because I know how that is except I was the houseparent! hope to see ya'll in November. Miss you and love you!
