Staff v/s Students

John had a Boys Varsity v/s Staff basketball game Friday night as a fundraiser for the program. It was very interesting to say the least. The students won by 3 points. The kids had a good time joking and making fun of their coaches, dorm parents and the other staff members who played.

Kaylee and Tyler helping Daddy get ready for the game.

The guy dribbling and shooting free throws has Down Syndrome. His name is Bruce. He and his parents were part of a group that travels around doing volunteer work for places like French Camp, churches and other charities. While they were in the area this past summer his father suddenly passed away. He and his mother have since stayed at French Camp and have become a big asset. The kids interact well with Bruce and he loves sports. He was a part of the staff's team.

Natchez Trace Festival

The Natchez Trace Festival was this past weekend. They always have a section for the kids with games and inflatables so we took Kaylee for a little while. It was very hot but in the shade it was bearable. Kaylee ate a $3.00 ice cream cone that melted as fast as she was eating it. Tyler had his share of festival fun and was ready to leave after an hour. I was with Tyler on that one.

Mississippi Ag Museum

Yesterday we went on a field trip with Kaylee's class to the Mississippi Ag Museum. Kaylee had a good time and probably could have stayed there all day. Tyler was ready for a nap by the time we got there so he was a zombie through most of it.

Riding the train. Olivia, Kaylee and Tyler.

Kaylee and Addie Hart looking at the model train exhibit. There were 3 huge small town Mississippi and cities of Mississippi train exhibits.

Kaylee loved the airplanes.

A Model -T car from Amory, Mississippi.

I think it would take a lot of people to rock this rocking chair!

Animals of the Ag Museum

Kaylee milking a cow.

Kaylee with the peacock. They had lots of other farm animals in the barns. The bunnies and ponies were Kaylee's favorite. She also liked the 2 big mules they had. Wonder where that comes from?

Tyler Walking.... Sort of

Tyler can really fly with help from this walking toy. He loves to chase you with it. He can stand by himself for a good period of time and can cruise down the couch. He can get from one couch to the other and from toy to toy but hasn't taken that first step yet. In the last two weeks he has been walking hold on to your hands really well. Just in the last week he understands he is suppose to try and walk between one person to the next. You can see it in his face that he wants to but when you try to let go of his hands he laughs and loses his balance. He is so funny!!!!

Kaylee's First Practice

Kaylee had her first T-Ball practice yesterday afternoon. She was really excited but by 7:00 she was ready to go eat supper. She hit the ball really hard and far a few times. We have only practiced with her using a plastic bat but she handled the real bat fine.

Happy Easter!

I am so mad at myself because out of 3 Easter egg hunts I didn't get one picture. We were so busy all weekend that every time we left we were rushing out the door and I forgot my camera every time. A friend of ours did get a couple of pictures at the church egg hunt so I hope to get a copy of those. Tyler was not happy about having to wear a shirt and a vest.

Nursery Rhyme Day

Kaylee's school asked the Mom's to do a nursery rhyme costume for the week they studied nursery rhymes. On Friday they paraded around the school for all to see. Kaylee chose Mary Had a Little Lamb mainly because it was the only one I could get any ideas from. It was not elaborate by any means but when Kaylee saw it her eyes got big, she gave me a big hug and said Thank you Mommy I love it! It made it all worth while!

Easter Eggs

Tyler thinks plastic Easter eggs are the best things ever! He dives in and goes crazy with them. He and Kaylee had a good time gathering them in a pile and seeing how fast they could scatter them. He can also crawl through the handle of the Easter basket somehow!!??

Sister, I Don't Like This!

The other day Kaylee kept putting this crown on Tyler's head. He didn't fuss but kept pulling it off. She had to hold his hands down so I could get a picture of it before he yanked it off again. He got her back though. A few days later he took a really big bite out of her nose.
