Playing Catch Up Yet Again

I am so sorry I haven't blogged in a very long time. There have been more important things going on lately. I guess it has been since Christmas. Kaylee has turned 5, played basketball on a church league, is checking out books from the library to bring home to read, starting a new T-ball season, and playing every day with the kids in our area of campus to name a few. Tyler is growing like crazy. A lot of his words are still jibberish but he copies every sound and action you make. We can make out a lot of what he is saying even when others can't. He has a lot of interaction with other kids. He is in the nursery every Tuesday morning while I attend Bible study and on Wednesday he goes with me to help babysit all the dorm parents children while they have their weekly meeting. He loves everything about balls and cars. He learns so quickly. He knows so many of the teenagers names and both Kaylee and Tyler love them coming in and out all of the time. They have both managed to stay healthy during the last few months. I don't think either one has had a fever sense Christmas. All four of us have had major allergy flare ups. It has kept us up coughing through the night several times. That has been miserable at times.

John and I seem to be running in all kinds of directions. We enjoy it for the most part but do get worn down at times. We are pretty much settled in but I still have decorating and painting to do. That will hopefully be a task for the summer. John's basketball season ended well. They were third in their district tourney and made it the State playoffs for the first time in many many many years. They were knocked out in the first round but I consider it a major accomplishment. He had 2 starters dismissed from school and 1 other player during the season. The team had a lot to overcome so I'm very proud of them. I am still the Dorm Parent Substitute one day a week for Buchanan Dorm and fill in doing other things around campus occasionally. I am so excited and privileged to mentor a girl who is in the FCA Onesimus program. It is a 9 week socially isolated program. It is for kids who have gotten in trouble on campus and this program is there only chance to be accepted back in the Academy. It is also for those kids who have gotten into so much trouble at home that the Academy will start them in the program first before they come onto campus. It is very intense. The first week they are stripped of any material blessing and live in tents. They are taught to be thankful and appreciated of what they have. It sounds harsh but God has worked miracles through it. Anyway, once a week I visit with my girl and pray for her when I'm not with her. I will also follow up with her when she comes to campus.

Thanks so much for taking the time to catch up with us!
Kaylee's Princess Party - 5 years old.
Kaylee with her Bethsaida Basketball Medal.
Kaylee with Shout and her first Library book that she can begin to read by herself. Shout is the reading program's incentive program. If they learned all the cite words they could take him home for the night.
Kaylee reading to Tyler. This is how he is most nights, worn down and ready for bed.
This is the scene every sunny afternoon on our street. Kaylee is the one in the middle in green riding her bike.
We love the area where we live. It is very kid friendly. We are in between three girls dorms. The dorm parents for one have 4 children of their on around Kaylee's age. The other dorm parents have 3 close to Kaylee's age. Tyler hangs in there the best he can.
The Seniors for the Lady Panthers. All of these happen to be in the dorm I sub for. Love them to death. Whitney, left, is from New York.
Kaylee flying during half-time.
